Delani Young is a Secondary English Education major at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. In August of 2022, she moved into a house of her own. Shortly after, she learned that she would need to undergo emergency ankle surgery. This photo and video essay captures the story of her recovery as she balances life as a student, a server at a local restaurant and responsibilities as a first-time homeowner.
